At the Slovak Biogas Association Conference titled "The Future of Slovak Biogas 2024," we had the opportunity to present our experiences regarding the sales and distribution options for biomethane. During the third session, focused on the transformation to biomethane, Dalibor Delong, our expert from REX Solutions, delivered a presentation on this topic.
In his presentation, Dalibor analyzed various distribution options for the produced biomethane. In addition to the traditional injection into the grid, he discussed alternatives such as the use of a shared injection point, where biomethane is transported in compressed form (CNG), and another option was the production of bioLNG, which is liquefied biomethane. One of the key aspects was how these distribution channels affect the emissions score of the produced biomethane. This factor plays a crucial role in determining its final purchase price, as it is an important element for achieving greater competitiveness of biomethane in the renewable energy market.
In addition to his presentation, Dalibor Delong was also invited to a panel discussion that focused on key topics for the development of the biomethane market in Slovakia. The discussion covered several important areas, including operational and investment support options, which are factors that can help kick-start and stabilize the biomethane market in the region. One of the main topics was the cost of biomethane production, which plays a decisive role in assessing the financial sustainability of new projects. The discussion also addressed the conditions and requirements that banks set when financing such projects.
Our participation in this conference not only provided new contacts in the biogas industry but also significant insights into trends and innovations emerging in the sector in Slovakia. Our work contributes to the development of the biomethane market in Slovakia and moves us toward a more sustainable future.
