Biomethane in Transport and Its Future: Dalibor Delong's Presentation at the Czech Biogas Association Conference

We would like to thank the Czech Biogas Association for the invitation to their traditional conference in Třeboň, where experts in renewable energy gather annually. Dalibor Delong's presentation attracted significant interest, particularly due to his detailed talk titled "Biomethane in Transport, or Else?".

The topic is highly relevant given the growing importance of sustainable technologies and solutions that help reduce emissions and achieve climate goals. In his presentation, Dalibor Delong emphasized that biomethane is currently primarily used in transportation, where it helps the fuel industry reduce emissions from sold fuels. This application enables a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and aligns with both European and global ecological targets.

As a result, biomethane has become a key element in efforts to decarbonize transportation. Looking ahead, we see expanding potential for biomethane beyond the transportation sector. One possibility is its inclusion in the CO2 emissions trading system (EU ETS), which could provide additional pathways to reducing emissions while supporting the economic sustainability of projects focused on biogas and biomethane. This offers new opportunities to utilize biomethane even more effectively.

Dalibor Delong also highlighted the importance of biomethane within the framework of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. Biomethane can play a crucial role in meeting ESG requirements, which are becoming increasingly important for investors and companies striving for long-term sustainability. The Třeboň conference provided an excellent platform for exchanging views and showcasing future trends in renewable energy.
