On October 9–10, 2025, the town of Třeboň hosted the 25th anniversary conference of the Czech Biogas Association (CzBA). This traditional professional event offered a rich program focused on current challenges, legislative developments, and technological innovations in the field of biogas and biomethane.
The Thursday morning session was dedicated to the legislative and economic framework, updates in administration and trade, and the public sector’s approach to the construction and operation of biogas plants. The afternoon block then focused on practical experience with plant construction and operation, as well as technological advancements for modern biogas facilities.
The Friday program covered research and education topics, providing a comprehensive view of biogas plant modernization and practical guidance on transitioning from biogas to biomethane.
Dalibor Delong gave a presentation titled “A Second Life for Biogas Plants – A Pragmatic Guide to Transformation.” His talk explored the conversion of a biogas plant into a biomethane facility, highlighting the importance of feedstock selection, the availability of gas distribution networks, and potential options for operating a biomethane plant even without direct grid access.
